Persecuted but not forsaken
2 Corinthians 4:9 ``Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;”
The fate of being abandoned by the Father was experienced by Jesus on the cross, and was the worst part of His suffering when He cried out ``My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? But He has promised that if we know Him, we will never have to suffer such withdrawal of the Spirit and abandonment by the Father. Blessed be God, Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother, and has said to us, ``I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
